Concrete Mixing

Day three...

'Another early start this time accompanied by 2 donkeys for collecting the water 56 drums were collected from the stream 1.5Km away at a cost of 10 Ksh a drum or 7p each.

The concrete was all hand mixed then barrowed over to the trenches it took all day to complete and the poor guys were dead by the end of it.

Lots of visitors turned up during the day to say hello and see a real white man as they didn’t remember seeing one in the village for over 5 years when a nurse visited to take blood sample for a malaria study.

That was as far as we got this week as the block lorry had broken down 2k away from the site so we were unable to lay the blocks up to DPC.

Still we will be back in 5 weeks to get stuck in again...'
